Playball is a child-development based fun multi-sports class where children learn the skills for the 7 most popular sports (Cricket, Football, Tennis, Volleyball, Baseball, Hockey and Basketball). Playball helps children form a foundation from which they can develop confidence in multiple sports skills and then go on to choose a preferred sport.

2 Can Do2 Year old Children (2-3 years)

At 2 we are laying the basic foundations of movement in order to accomplish the more challenging sports related skills that come later on. They become aware of the wonderful things their bodies can do and get lots of practice in basic building blocks like locomotion, balance, body and spatial awareness, muscle strengthening and fine motor skills.

Watch Me at 3 – 3 Year old Children (3-4 years)
3 is an exciting time for experimenting with movement and basic sports skills are introduced. They learn to listen to the coach, take it in turns and share. We build their confidence and concentration. The emphasis is on having fun so the Childs association with sport is a happy and positive one.

Dinkies – 4 Year old Children (4-5)
The main emphasis is on mastering a variety of sports movement skills. The balance between participation and the quality of each skill is given careful consideration. By use of repetition the quality in each skill improves. Pupils take great strides into the world of competent sport participation as good ball skills are established and improved on.
Please see our Parent Information for classes at Eddie Catz.

Overview:

Welcome to Playball Croydon

Playball takes a holistic approach towards developing children physically, mentally, socially and emotionally. Our progressive programme uses sport and movement as the means to provide children with a sound base from which to develop every aspect of their lives including developing life skills such as independence, persistence, respect, communication and friendship. Our coaches are full of energy and enthusiasm and have all been through vast amounts of training in order to become qualified. All of our coaches have DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) certificates which are available to view on request.
Our goal is clear, to teach sport properly so that any child who attends one or all of our five programmes will achieve a level of competence providing them with a springboard into future sports participation. Playball caters for children of every ability, both boys and girls, from the ages of 2-7 years old. Above all of this we at Playball Croydon insist that children have FUN whilst they are learning!

About Nick

Hi my name is Nick. I am 25 years old from Zimbabwe and have been teaching Playball on and off for 7 years since I left school. I stopped working at Playball to go on a tennis scholarship to America and after I finished university I returned to Playball Wimbledon. I have always loved sports since I was small and have always had a very active lifestyle. I have played tennis professionally as well as cricket, hockey, rugby and athletics on a school and regional level. I absolutely love working with children and want to give them the same chance to succeed at sport and life as I did growing up in a very sporting country such as Zimbabwe.
