Eddie Catz opens its 3rd Children's Playcentre in Newbury, Berkshire

9th Jun 2010 New centre to open on 14 June includes giant playframe, party rooms and purpose-built sports’ pitch

London, 3rd May 2010 – Eddie Catz, the award winning children’s playcentre chain including venues in Putney and Wimbledon, will open a third playcentre in Newbury, Berkshire on 14 June 2010. The Centre is 9,500sq ft split on two levels and has a giant playframe and toddler area, party rooms and a purpose-built sports’ pitch. The centre will offer children’s pre-school classes and theme-based activity holiday workshops which have proven to be an outstanding success in its other venues.

“We’ve been hunting for sites all around London and the M25 and happened upon an old abandoned playcentre called Fantasy World which used to be the one and only centre for kids in Newbury.  We think Newbury is a great place for an Eddie Catz as the town has boomed in recent years, evolving from a rural market town into an increasingly sophisticated cultural centre, also fuelled by many Londoners who’ve moved out.”

In addition to the daytime birthday parties, Eddie Catz will also be offering evening Laser Tag parties for 6 to 12 year olds, which have already proven exceedingly popular at their Wimbledon branch. The party booking hotline is already open so customers can already book parties for June and July.

Eddie Catz was founded in 2005 by London parents Maria and Darren Johnson who saw the need for an upmarket play facility when both their children were under 5. After opening a first site in Putney, they opened a second in south Wimbledon in early 2008 and an online shop in 2009, also managing to snap up numerous awards along the way. Eddie Catz provides a fun and safe environment for children to play, have parties and also learn. Its uniqueness is owed to the diverse range of pre-school classes and activities it offers as well as a superior level of comfort, cleanliness and customer service, distinguishing it from similar centres of the past.
